Conant Center for the Performing Arts
4484 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta, GA
Capitol City Opera Company, co-sponsored by Arts & Ideas at Oglethorpe University, presents W.A. Mozart’s comic favorite Cosìfan tutte, loosely translated to mean “all women are like that.” A bet between friends wagered on fidelity has outrageous consequences in this classic Mozart opera, with libretto by Lorenzo Da Ponte. Two young men test their fiancées’ devotion by disguising themselves to seduce the other’s lover. The girls fail the test and the now swapped couples elope. In a cunning denouement, the trickery is revealed. Don’t miss this tale of fiancé swapping, mustachioed foreign lovers, and misguided intentions.
Featuring the talents of Perri Montané as Fiordiligi, Katie Oates as Dorabella, Wade Thomas as Guglielmo, Cory Colton as Ferrando, Elexa Bancroft as Despina, and Ivan Segovia as Don Alfonso. Accompanied by piano/harpsichord and string quartet.

An annual fundraiser for Capitol City Opera, On the Lightside is a fresh and fun evening featuring members of the Capitol City Opera singing the lighter fare of musical theatre. Patrons ‘in the know’ make this event an indoor picnic by bringing food and beverages–including the grown-up kind–to enjoy before or during the performance. The evening will include a silent auction and raffles for additional prizes.
Tickets are $35 per person, and tables of 10 can be purchased together for $350. On the Lightside helps fund Capitol City Opera’s main stage productions and educational outreach programs for elementary school students. A much-anticipated annual rite of Capitol City Opera’s summer schedule, the program is a frequent sellout. Please purchase your tickets early to ensure you get a seat!
