Atlanta Music Education has been a leader in music lessons and classes in the Decatur area for 8 years and has had popular camps with Two Crafty Chicks art studio and downtown Tucker main street schools. Ms. Elexa’s teaching team is ecstatic to be growing again in downtown Decatur with their 2018 partnership with TreeHouse Kids and Crafts.

Does your child love to sing along to the radio? Perform on stage? Jam out on the guitar? If so, we would love for them to join Ms. Elexa and her team for one of their weekly summer camps! Not only will we have our base of our popular music and drama camp curriculum, this year we are adding fun themed week activities to the curriculum.

Music camps will be offered in our brand new space at Tree House Atlanta from 10:00-4:00pm for ages 5-8. Each student will receive both individual music and drama instruction as well as collaborations with the rest of camp, all leading up to Friday Music Video day where students will be filming in front of green screens, dress up and perform all the songs we’ve been rehearsing to be sent to parents and put up on our Youtube Page.

Music camps students will enjoy activities like drum circle, sing alongs, skit and acting preparation, listening projects from Broadway musicals to rock n roll radio favorites, ukulele jams and much more.

All materials are provided for music camp but please pack drinks, a lunch and drink. Students are encouraged to bring their instruments from home like ukuleles and guitars.

WHAT IS CAMP LIKE?
Each week at music camp is unique and has exciting lesson and musical modules. Themes of projects include music appreciation, music history, composition, and of course, instrument instruction in ukulele, guitar, bass, keyboard, voice and percussion. Integrated along with our core music theory curriculum are music games that were developed by the teachers. Listening projects, rhythm ball, boom-whackers, musical crafts, and sing-alongs are some of the highlights.
With small student to teacher ratios, we are able to offer maximum music intake for our campers and collaborations for group performances as well. All materials are provided for camp. Students may bring their guitars and ukuleles if they have one.

Parents are asked to provide a lunch, small snack and drink for campers to bring along each day of camp.

Each Friday at camp is Showcase 20 minutes before camp ends. Family and friends are invited for a short program where campers will perform, show off all the things we’ve rehearsed and worked on during the week. Following showcase is always a celebration cupcake party at the studio provided by Ms. Elexa and team. Each camper is given a folder that they keep at the studio until after Showcase which will hold all of their music, worksheets and handouts.

Private lessons are available during camp weeks for an additional fee when available.

Each week at camp is different and is tailored to the age and experience of the campers attending, so attending multiple weeks of camp is an option too!
